New York, NY (Future150) -- The late signing period is nearing, and five future150 alums are among the top prospects still available in the class of 2016. With their recruitments coming down the stretch, Future150 takes a look at each:
Wolfgang Novogratz, PG, Harvard-Westlake (CA): The New York native missed his junior season, but has bounced back strong this year. USC, Wichita State, Nevada and San Francisco seem to be the programs linked to his name the most. A heady lead guard who has a knack for winning, Novogratz will give some program a great floor general. It would not be a surprise to see a number of new programs get involved before April.
Adrian Moore, SG, North Little Rock (AR): Arguably the best athlete on this list, It will be interesting to see if he leaves the state for his college career. Arkansas has remained a constant in his recruitment as of late, with other programs like Wake Forest and Tulsa lurking as well. As one of the few ranked players left in 2016, more offers seem to be around the corner.
Micah Thomas, SF, Huntington Prep (WV): Thomas has benefitted greatly from his lone season at Huntington Prep and now the Memphis is down to four. Louisville, Maryland, Arkansas and LSU make up his finalists. He took a visit to Louisville last week and could be on the verge of setting up additional ones.
Darius Hicks, PF, 22 FT Academy (SC): Hicks is one of the more hotly recruited available big men in the country. He is a bit of a combo forward at this point but his big frame combined with athletcism will let him guard players much bigger than he is. Alabama, Providence, Marquette, Auburn, Clemson and South Carolina are all showing interest. Marquette is the latest offer
Isaiah Whaley, PF, Evelyn Mack Academy (NC): An intriguing stretch-4 man, Whaley is being recruited by the likes of Providence, Hofstra, Georgia, Charlotte, Nevada, ECU and Virginia Tech. He has a ton of potential, but has yet to prove he is more player than prospect on a consistent basis. Still, at 6-foot-8 and being a very good athlete, he has the chance to go to a high-major program.
