Dallas, TX (Future150) -- The 2019 Future150 Tournament Series was on the road again this past weekend, and the fifth stop was Dallas, TX. The Dallas Battleground Event has been one of Future150’s top stops in its series due to all of the talent in the Dallas area. The 13U Boys division featured unknown young players from all over the South. FCAA won the championship in a 13U division with many talented players.
Let's take a look at some feature players throughout the weekend in the 13U Division below:
Galedon Banks - 2024, CG of FCAA is an athletic, quick, and scrappy high volume scoring guard. He showed off his ability to score from all three levels efficiently and at a very quick pace. He was a downhill attacker as a primary ball-handler for his team, he pulled up from the midrange area, and he showed that he could shoot from outside. Banks also was a strong defender, playing scrappy defense with active hands and high energy which led to fastbreak opportunities for his team.
Javar Washington - 2024, CG of FCAA is a long, athletic guard who is a knock down shooter from outside. He understands the best time to drive is when defense closes out on you, which he did very well at driving by defenders for finishes with and without contact. Washington played with high energy on both ends of the floor, played unselfishly, and helped lead his team to a championship win with 16 points.
Charlie Gressle - 2024, SG of Texas Dynasty is an aggressive defender, applying pressure on opposing guards, and getting in the passing lanes. Gressle's defensive intensity translated over to the offensive end as he is a lights out shooter from outside. When he is pressured, he is able to put the ball on the floor and drive to open spots and make plays for his team. He's a strong shooter who can score on all three levels.
Logan Lear - 2024, SG of Texas Dynasty is a big time player who can score on all three levels. He plays extremely hard on both ends, applying pressure on opposing guards defensively, and sprinting the floor wide on the offensive end. Lear has a high basketball IQ and can play both guard positions. He showed off some flash passing skills in the championship game with 4 assists and scored 16 points to help Texas Dynasty become runner-ups in the 13U division.
Khalil Ewell - 2024, CG of FamLife is a scrappy, athletic, and strong guard who gives 110% on both ends. He applies tough pressure on opposing guards, is very quick with his feet, and remains active with his hands. Ewell has a shifty handle and attacks downhill which gets him to the basket efficiently or allows him to create opportunities for teammates. He's a primary scorer for his team and leads by example with how hard he plays.
Braeden Spinden - 2024, CG of the AYG Lakers is a strong-bodied, high volume scorer. He slashed to the open spots, penetrated the paint, and was able to showcase his shooting ability from midrange throughout the weekend. He crashes the glass on both ends, plays hard-nosed defense, and just competes every possession for his team. Spinden is a true leader for his team with the intensity he plays and how he communicates on the floor.
Cutberto Martinez - 2024, PF of the NTX Knights has great size and frame at 6'3. He has a big-bodied frame, and pounds his defenders in the paint. He posts up aggressively, demands the ball, and is a strong back to the basket player with good touch around the rim. Martinez is a rim-to-rim runner who is very active on both ends. He crashes the boards hard, battles for position in the post, and alters shots defensively.
Daedrion Garrett - 2024, CG of the Longview Pack is an athletic, quick guard who attacks downhill. He handles the ball well, controls the tempo of the game, and has a great first step to blow by defenders. Garrett shows poise under pressure, scores on all three levels, and competes every possession. He helped the Longview Pack compete each game this weekend as one of the more competitive teams in the division.
