Houston, TX (Future150) -- Here are some of the top performers from Nike EYBL Houston:
Marques Bolden 2016 Pro Skills: Just recently received a offer from University of Kentucky, Bolden has great size and length to be effective at the next level and he looks a lot more confident in the post. Needs to keep working on his footwork on the block as he was called for a couple of traveling violations. but he has great touch around the rim and still scores efficiently.
CJ Roberts 2017 Team Texas: Roberts was very impressive this weekend scoring and distributing the ball at a high level. He runs the pint for Team Texas and runs the team. Roberts has improved a lot since the staff saw him during the season.
RJ Nembhard 2017 Team Texas: High volume scorer that when on is dangerous. Still needs to work on shot selection as he took some shots that were questionable but he still played well this weekend especially against Pro Skills with a 20 point performance.
Paul Washington II 2017 Team Penny: The 6'7 forward is a freak athlete that dunks anytime he has the opportunity. Rebounds very well also because of his athleticism and high motor. Has a soft touch in the lane too and can score with either hand on a baby hook shot.
Jarred Vanderbilt 2017 Houston Hoops: Vanderbilt is the real deal. A 6'8 guard that is a terror in transition. Scored 24 points with 15 rebounds against Las Vegas Prospects giving them problems all game. Needs to continue improving his jump shot as far as consistency but he made a case to being one of the top players in 2017. Kid is big time.
Royce Hamm 2017 Houston Hoops: Hamm, who was highlighted at the PrimeTime Sports EYB Classic last weekend is a 6'7 forward that plays at a high motor. Can shoot the ball from three when his feet is set and is a good athlete. His handles have gotten better but still need some improvement. Regardless, Hamm is a underrated prospect in Texas and is a player that is looking to make some noise this summer.
Jatrious Smith 2016 Southern Stampede: Smith is scary once he gets in the lane because he is looking to dunk on whoever is in his way. 6'4 shooting guard that has great strength and athleticism. He can shoot off the dribble pretty well but needs to be more consistent in his jumper. Had a good performance against the Travelers on Saturday.
Jayson Tatum 2016 St. Louis Eagles: the forward is the real deal. Scores very well inside and has a very high basketball iq. Was a offensive force this weekend.
Javonte Smart 2018 EP Elite: Smart may see his rankings move up soon. He scored 25 against Houston Hoops on Sunday and performed at a high level all weekend
Shnider Herard 2016 Pro Skills: his post game is improving a lot. He has a nice turn around jumper and uses his size to get offensive rebounds. Not very athletic, but a smart player that knows where to be on the court.
