Houston, TX (Future150) -- In the city of Houston, Texas it is very easy to be overlooked as a basketball prospect. Even though the Lone Star State is always thought of as an extremely talented region when it comes to high school football, it is no slouch when it comes to high school hoops either, especially in the Dallas and Houston areas.
Class of 2019 combo guard Evan Palmquist of Magnolia High School (TX) has continually improved and grown right in front of the eyes of the Future150 staff members over the past few years. Now, it seems like he's ready for his time to shine.
"I want to average at least 28 points and 10 assists per game," Palmquist said in reference to this high school season. "I'm really trying to continue to improve my game, all-around."
Standing just short of 6'3", he has the ability to score from all three levels and can get hot in a hurry from beyond the arc. One of his main issues over the past few years has been his lack of consistency on both ends of the floor. It seems like he has fixed this problem at this stage, and his game is finally blossoming.
He currently has NJIT showing interest in him as their coaches have been chatting with Palmquist along with his high school coaches. Palmquist could certainly contribute at the low-major level of college basketball. It would be shocking if there aren't any low-major programs in the Southwest region on him by the end of the high school season.
Continue to follow along with Future150 as we track Palmquist during his junior season and keep a close watch on his recruitment process.
