Saltsburg, PA (Future150) -- Marquette landed one of the best long term post prospects in the 2014 class on Friday evening, picking up a commitment from Kiski School (PA) center Satchel Pierce.
The 7-foot, 250-pound post is a prospect who emerged in the summer, specifically after an excellent showing at the 2013 NBA Players Camp.
He is a wide bodied big man who moves well for a player his size. He can score with ease around the rim, rebounds well on both ends, and uses his strength to body up on physical offensive big men.
He picked the Golden Eagles over Miami (FL) and Pittsburgh, joining an already loaded Marquette recruiting class.
Guard heavy Marquette reloads with their typical amount of perimeter firepower next year, including Ahmed HIll (#35), Sandy Cohen (#68) Malek Harris (#139) and Marial Shayok.
Landing a commitment from a true post prospect like Pierce gives the perennial Big East power an anchor to their guard-heavy teams for years to come.
