Indianapolis, IN (Future150) -- Class of 2018 SG Quinn Moffitt of Triton Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana is a familar face at the Future150 Camp Series. We have loved watching him play since day one with his elite shooting abilities, and great feel for the game. But there is one thing that has us scratching our heads right now.
As a junior in high school, the sharpshooting 6'1" prospect has seen no college interest at all. We fully believe he is very capable of being a scholarship prospect at the division two level, at the very least. Moffitt is not letting this discourage him though, as he is continuing to find ways to improve on his game.
"The first thing I've really focused on improving this season is my defense and learning to cut my guy off," he said. "I also want to get better at creating space for myself, like getting a 1-2 dribble pull-up, or getting seperation from my defender and getting to the basket."
Even though he sees the weaknesses in his game, don't mistake him as a player lacking confidence. He knows he has plenty of strengths as well, which will allow him to extend his basketball career beyond high school.
"I think I could offer a school at the next level a pure shooter that consistently hits from anywhere on the floor and a player that has a very high basketball IQ," Moffitt said. "I am a hard worker, with a great work ethic and can lead on and off the court too."
Let us at Future150 be the first ones to agree with Moffitt, as he can certainly do all this and more. With a bit more improvement in his slashing abilities and a chance to grow another inch or two to reach 6'2"/6'3", he is without a doubt capable of playing at the next level. College coaches and others need to go ahead and remember this name, because he won't be flying under the radar very much longer.
Stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to track Moffitt's improvement and recruitment process, along with the rest of our Future150 alumni base.
