Nashville, TN (Future150) -- With Future150's 1st annual "The Summit" Camp still fresh in our minds, it is clear that one freshman stood out from the rest, as he was one of three to make the Top 20 All-Star Game.
At 6-foot-7, Melo Eggleston is a freak athlete who spent a majority of the weekend trying to tear off the rim on his drives. He was also able to force turnovers with his length and blocked a number of shots at the rim.
While he may have shined at camp, this year has been a bit of a waiting process for the next big thing out of the Baltimore area. Playing at St. Frances Academy this season, Eggleston watched and learned from UNLV-bound Dwayne Morgan. While it was hard to spend more time watching than playing, Eggleston knows that it will all pay off soon.
"Dwayne has been great, he's like a big brother to me. I've learned a lot from him and he's told me to be patient, and that my time is coming," he said.
After recently joining DC Premier, Melo is more than ready to make his name known on a national stage this summer, as well as make a serious impact for his high school team in the fall as well.
It is clear that he is just beginning to scratch the surface of his considerable potential; and if he continues to develop and put the work in, he will be one of the top players in his class sooner rather than later.
