Las Vegas, NV (Future150) -- Duke made waves in their 2015 recruiting haul on Monday evening, picking up a commitment from Bishop Gorman (NV) power forward Chase Jeter.
He picked Duke over scholarship offers from Arizona, Kansas, Oregon, UCLA & UNLV after winning game MVP honors at Adidas Nations, posting 14 points, 16 rebounds & 4 blocks against Team Europe in a 52-46 win.
It has been an incredible year for the 6-foot-10 big man, who saw his stock rise meteorically throughout this past AAU season while playing with Dream Vision, rising to #5 in Future150's national rankings for the 2015 class.
His improvement over the past year has been incredible, and we first saw it at the Adidas Gauntlet Orlando this pas May, where we had this to say about the talented post:
"Perhaps no player has improved as much as Chase Jeter has in the past year, and it shows. In a big match-up vs Carlton Bragg, it was Jeter that got the best of it. He was assertive in the post and showed the ability to score on the block with a series of post moves. Jeter has also become more aggressive on the defensive end and more of a rim protector. He seems bound for a top ten ranking when we update them in the coming weeks."
From there, we saw him put up another dazzling performance at NBA Top 100 Camp, before he was selected for 17U Team USA trials in Colorado and had to leave the camp early
A forward who can stretch the defense with his multi-faceted skill set, he has grown and put on signifcant muscle since last summer, and is now blossoming into a dominant power forward.
In the 2015 class for the Blue Devils, he joins sweet shooting Ohio guard Luke Kennard, forming the beginning of a fantastic Duke class.
