Jackson, TN (Future150) -- Very few prospects had an Autumn as productive as USJ (TN) shooting guard Clayton Hughes. The 6-foot-5 wing burst onto the scene at Future150 Camp Atlanta, where he was selected as a Top 20 All-Star.
He then followed that performance at Future150 National Top 20 Camp, earning a spot in the Top 40 All-Star Game while competing against some of the top high school prospects in the country.
Now, division one programs are beginning to take notice of the explosive athlete.
"Lipscomb and Western Kentucky have been showing a lot of interest lately. Then Belmont, Notre Dame, Memphis, and Tennessee all have inquired about me as well," he told Future150.
High profile college programs aren't the only people noticing Clayton's rise in the basketball world, opponents are as well, and he is fully prepared for the obstacles this season.
"I'm going to try my best to win a state championship, and also go for Mr. Basketball in Tennessee. Basically, I just want to have a great season with my team," he informed me.
The Team Nashville prospect is also ready to have a big year on the AAU circuit as well, something he is looking forward to.
The long and lanky wing is a smooth athlete who excels when attacking the rim and finishing at the rim. He's also an excellent student, sporting a 3.4 GPA currently.
Look for more programs to continue to get into the mix for the services of the scorer, who had this to say about himself when I gave him a three word maximum in order to describe his game.
"I get buckets!"
That he does, and soon, he will have scholarships too.
