Montgomery, AL (Future150) -- It has been a busy past few weeks for Moss Point (Miss.) shooting guard Devin Booker. Not only did he recently visit five schools in two weeks time, but he is also hosting new schools into his recruitment.

The most recent school to express interest in the star shooter is Kentucky. Kenny Payne contacted his father, Melvin Booker, last week.

“Coach [John] Calipari and an assistant are supposed to be coming to visit me sometime this week,” he told Future150.com. “I’m giving every school an equal opportunity right now, but obviously you can’t ignore what Calipari has done in the past.”

What sticks out the most to Booker about Kentucky and Calipari?

“You can’t ignore the fact that Coach Calipari pushes his players to the limits and produces pros. I followed him when he was at Memphis and I’ve always liked him. He gets top players and makes stars out of them.”

Duke, North Carolina, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Florida, Stanford and others are involved in the 6-foot-5 guard’s recruitment too.

Booker had the opportunity to witness the environments at Duke, North Carolina, Michigan, Michigan State, and Florida recently. Overall, the trips were a success.

“I really enjoyed myself on all the trips. I’ve enjoyed talking to the coaches and they can tell you anything, but until you can go witness the schools for yourself, it’s different. I like to feel the atmosphere instead of just hearing about it. I did that on my visits,” he explained.

While visiting Duke and North Carolina, the sharpshooter reeled in offers from both premiere programs.

“It feels great to get offers from Duke and North Carolina. To sit in the same room as Coach [Mike] Kryzyewski and Coach Roy [Williams] and hear them say they want me to play at their school, it is truly an honor.”

“Duke allows their shooters to shoot, and that’s the best part of my game. And then there is always Coach K. He’s a great coach.”

“I’ve always respected Coach Roy and North Carolina has always been a powerhouse. He keeps the team running and puts up a lot of numbers. I like it.”

Booker plans to ride out the AAU season before cutting down his list or making any decisions.

“I don’t have a set date or anything, but I will probably cut my list down to 5-10 schools after AAU season and go from there.”
