Medfield, MA (Future150) -- The Rivers School (MA) has become one of the most talent-laden teams in the Northeast in recent years. With talented wing Jermaine Samuels off to Villanova for what should be an excellent college career, the spotlight now turns to a talented Red Wings freshman class.
A lot of the hype surrounds 6'5" wing Terrence Clarke, and for good reason. A concensus top five player in the country, he already has schools from across the country recruiting him. However, look a little deeper and you'll see there's another future high-major prospect in the 2021 class on campus as well in Camaron Tongue.
At 6'6", 200-pounds, the forward shined at our Future150 Elite24 All-American Camp this summer after having a huge AAU season with the Boston Bobcats. Now, he's ready to take things to the next level as he'll be suiting up with Nike sponsored Expressions Elite this coming AAU season.
After playing varsity basketball as an 8th grader last year, he's ready for more this winter.
"I want to win the ISL (Independent School League) Championship while becoming more of an offensive threat from the outside, and to improve my ball-handling skills," he told Future150.
An excellent defender who uses his 6'8" wingspan and athleticism to disrupt shots on the regular, there are very few prospects in the class who can match his current defensive skills.
While people in the region are just beginning to figure out who he is, schools like Boston College, Northwestern, Providence & Tulane have been keeping tabs on the high-academic prospect.
A self-proclaimed 'tech geek', he's a very competitive player who's working hard to tame his emotions on the floor.
"Honestly, I'm really working to overcome letting a missed shot or bad defensive move affect my game. That's my toughest opponent, myself," he told us.
His mother played basketball collegiately at the division three level before playing semi-professionally, while a second cousin of his was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1978, so basketball definitely runs in the family blood.
With dreams of obtaining a division one basketball scholarship and playing in the NBA one day, it looks like he's well on his way in his young career.
