Charlottesville, VA (Future150) -- Last week the summer circuit really kicked off in full swing with the NBPA Top 100 camp. One of the better players to attend the camp was none other than Davon Reed. Not only did Reed turn heads on the floor, but made some news off it as well.

He has narrowed his school lists down to 8, which isn't that big of a cut until you think of the amount of schools that have been after the talented guard. He now lists Harvard, Miami, Wake Forest, Louisville, UConn, Xavier, Cincinnati, and Memphis. All of the schools have offered him excluding UConn and Louisville. Reed says that it was his relationships with all of the coaching staffs and the potential education he could recieve from each school that made these 8 stand out.

Reed went on to say that some things that will factor into his decision will be if he can step in and have an impact right away and education. He also mentioned that he sees all of these programs as "high majors" despite their conference affiliation.

In a time where some kids get caught up in the name of a program it is refreshing to see Reed looking for the best fit regardless of conference. Several of these programs are also recruiting teammates Ronde Jefferson and Jaren Sina as well. Reed admits that he has talked with Sina a bit about playing together as well as Jefferson.  Memphis, Miami, and Cincinnati have all offered Sina as well.

Obviously a program like Harvard would love to bring all three of them on campus alongside a stellar 2012 class and 2013 standout Zena Edosamwon. Regardless, Reed's recruitment is shaping up to be one of the more interesting storylines to follow this summer.
