Coffee Springs, AL (Future150) -- Future150's All-Southeast Camp this summer saw plenty of talented prospects make the all-star game in dominant fashion. One of the more quietly productive performers of that weekend? Small forward Dallas Howell, a sophomore at Enterprise High School in Alabama.
This didn't happen by mistake, as Howell decided to attend Future150's National All-American Camp in October as well, and also played well enough to warrant a spot in the all-star game.
At 6'5" with a 6'6" wingspan, he has great size and length on the wing for a prospect his age. His versatile scoring abiltiies and ability to guard multiple positions on the defensive end make him very valuable when he's out on the floor.
Even though he will probably play mostly the four and five spots for his high school team this season, he is most certainly a natural swingman.
"I believe the three spot is my natural position, which is what I usually play at during AAU season," Howell said. "I believe my ability to knock down shots from deep is a big strength to my game because I force bigger defenders to come out and guard me, and I drive by them to finish at the rim."
This is the versatility that was really impressive to the Future150 staff this summer when watching him. He has pure three point stroke, which forces people to respect him from the perimeter and in-turn results in the defense being stretched and spread out. However, there are still a few things that he could get better at to make him an ultimate match-up nightmare.
"My ball-handling definitely needs to get better, and I need to continue to improve my strength and ability to finish through contact when attacking the rim," Howell said.
For now, Howell will stay hidden in Coffee Springs, Alabama, as they have one of the best young prospects we saw all throughout our camp season. When his breakout day comes, don't say that you didn't hear it here first.
