Orlando, FL (Future150) -- The past two days have been huge for Central Florida on the recruiting trail. After landing 2015 power forward Alex Owens on Tuesday, the Knights added their point guard of the future on Wednesday.

Corey Sanders, a big-time athlete out of IMG Academy (Fla.), has also made the decision to stay close to home for college.

"When Alex [Owens] committed, I knew it was time for me. It was big," Sanders told Future150.com.

Together, Sanders and Owens bring UCF a nice start for the 2015 class, and they are both in the program's backyard.

The proximity to home was one of many factors for the 6-foot playmaker.

"It feels good to stay close to home. My family will be able to watch me when they want. An hour away compared to out of state is a lot better."

Sanders, the No. 55 overall player in the country, was also considering Xavier and Murray State.

Sanders says UCF and Jones have some big things planned for the future.

"The staff is great. Coach [Donnie] Jones is building the program up. Alex and I are ready to come in and work and do something different. We want to bring championships to UCF."

High school and AAU teammate Dwayne Bacon has been connected with Sanders for the longest time. Is there a possibility of them joining together at the next level?

"I will start recruiting him," he said with a laugh. "I'm not sure if he will come to UCF, but it's definitely worth a shot."

Sharpshooter Matt Milon is also one to watch for in 2015.

Sanders (55) and Owens (66) make up UCF's two man class so far for 2015.
