Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- As the AAU season gets closer and closer, members of the class of 2017 become more excited. The spring live periods provide an opportunity for players to try and boost their stocks, and pick up more offers in the process.
There are always a number of players who commit early on in the process for a handful of reasons. Some already hold offers from their dream programs, while others find the right fit and don't want to waste time looking at other programs.
For Future150 alum Brian Coffey, it appears he falls into the later group. The talented lead guard and Atlanta native picked up an offer from North Florida last week, and committed to the Ospreys on Tuesday afternoon.
The speedy lead guard proved he is just a quick of the court. Now he will play this AAU season out with one of the biggest decisions of his life out of the way. A talented scorer, he will undoubtedly help the Ospreys out on the offensive side of the ball.
Moving foward, North Florida still has room for four more commits in the class of 2017. Look for the Ospreys to add pieces to compliment their point guard of the future in Coffey.
