Clemson, SC (Future150) -- If there is one prospect in the state of Georgia that has the chance to skyrocket this AAU season, 2014 Atlanta-Whitewater (GA) forward Phil Cofer is the one. He continues to improve his game and schools are taking notice.
“Alabama, George Mason, Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, and South Carolina are some of the schools involved right now,” Cofer told Future150.com following one of his games at Big Shots Clemson.
Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Ohio State were on-hand to see the 6-foot-7 forward a few Saturday's ago. He has become a priority for both in-state schools, as it is important to keep him in the Peach State when his college decision comes.
Nevertheless, Cofer is in no hurry to make a college decision or name any favorites to this point.
“I don’t have anyone at the top right now. I probably won’t have a decision or anything until the high school season.”
The junior does hope to take a visit in the future, though.
“I’m supposed to be going to Alabama soon, he explained. “I really like Coach [Anthony] Grant. He is a great coach. He and Coach [John] Brannen have been wanting me to come on a visit. They’re pretty nice coaches.”
Cofer also was supposed to visit Georgia Tech recently, but those plans fell through and will be rescheduled.
Expect the aforementioned schools, along with many other schools to track Cofer this upcoming weekend and on into the summer live period.
