Chicago, IL (Future150) -- Time is ticking for 2014 Curie (Ill.) big man Cliff Alexander.
The 6-foot-8 power forward will announce his commitment on Friday during the early Signing Period, but Monday is also a big day in his recruitment.
Today, the five-star talent is expected to remove a school and narrow his list to three.
As I have said for months, Illinois leads for Alexander right now, but DePaul has made a big run. With that being said, that leaves Memphis and Kansas as the options to be cut.
Many people are favoring Memphis to be taken out of the picture, but don’t be surprised if the Jayhawks – yes, the presumed leader by most – are eliminated from contention.
From the looks of things right now, it seems Alexander will opt to stay in-state for his college basketball.
Expect a wild week leading up to Friday.
UPDATE: Alexander's mother says Cliff will not be making a cut leading up to his decision on Friday.
