Houston, TX (Future150) -- Once AAU ends the recruiting calendar shifts.  No longer are senior players collecting schools.  In the month of August they are mostly cutting schools and setting up visits.

The push for top players to visit, to commit is ramping up as November and the Early Signing Period nears.

For Class of 2016 forward Adrio Bailey (Louisiana) the process is moving along.

"We haven't narrowed down just yet," said Aunt Kathy Davenport."We had to eliminate a lot."

Because Adrio is entering his final year of high school his aunt suggested they streamline the process a touch.  When you have 20+ offers still active you have 20+ coaching staffs calling/texting/emailing you.

According to his aunt, Adrio is probably going to run track, obviously play basketball, and even punt for the football team this academic year.  And she knows he has to keep his grades up.  That is important.

"I said, 'Let's go ahead and knock some schools off,'" said Mrs. Davenport.

Hints and Nibbles

The goal is to narrow the list to five or six schools.  Right now they are still hovering around 20.

"One that I know for sure is probably a school in Oklahoma and a school in Arkansas," said Aunt Kathy.  "And a school in Texas.  Those three states we are probably going to be looking at those schools for sure."

Quick guesses are that Arkansas and Oklahoma State get official visits. Visits are likely coming in September to start.

Later this week the list should be more manageable.

"Hopefully we have it narrowed it down even more."
