Irmo, SC (Future150) -- After a successful AAU season, 2014 Irmo (SC) forward Javis Howard compiled more than 30 scholarship offers with his outstanding play. On Friday, his recruitment came to an unexpected end.

Howard, a 6-foot-7 forward, made his commitment to Charleston Southern Friday afternoon.

"Relations was big in my decision," he told Future150.com. "Coach BJ [Mckie] and the staff have believed in me since my sophomore year. I get along with all the staff and the players."

In addition to the relationship built, time and effort also went noticed by Howard, who was impressed by Charleston Southern's commitment to him during AAU season.

"They believed I could play at the next level since day one. They invested time in me. The staff was at every AAU game. At my worst, at my average, and at my great games, they were always there. I was their top priority and it means a lot to me."

With his versatility and skill, Howard will be a tough matchup for many teams he will face in college. The forward can guard the 1-5, as well as play on the perimeter and in the post.

Howard also considered offers from College of Charleston, Rhode Island, Appalachian State, and Murray State, along with interest from VCU and Wichita State.

He is a three-star according to Future150.com and comes in at No. 131 in the 2014 rankings.
