Durham, NC (Future150) -- Class of 2016 SG Charles Norman had some great outings this summer playing with Team Winston, paired in the backcourt with 2016 PG and Future150 Alum Michal Seals of High Point Christian Academy.
Watching Norman play a few times this summer, I was surprised at how under recruited he was despite his decent size and vigorous style of play.
"Charles is an explosive athlete with a scorers mentality," Said Coach Travis of Team Winston. "He is a dog on the defensive end, and is a big time competitor that is never afraid to do the dirty work."
With all these great skills and traits as a two-guard, Charles has only reeled in three offers. Two of which are D2 schools. Overall he lists offers from Lees-McRae, Tusculum, and UNC-Asheville. But that list seems like it should grow soon with all the interest Norman has been recieving lately.
"Since the summer, Middle Tennessee State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Siena, and Bowling Green have been showing interest," Charles said. "Coppin State has been showing me heavy interest as well."
For now Charles has only visited one school but plans on making at least another, and possibly a few more.
"I took an official visit to Tusculum (D2) recently and really loved the plan they had laid out for me," Charles said. "I also plan on getting out and visiting Coppin State soon."
Norman knows that he has been under the radar for quite some time now, and is confident that his senior season will finally be the wake up call for coaches who have held back on offering him, or never even gave him a chance.
"For now, I still feel very underrated, but this season will wake up alot of coaches and others around me."
Follow along with Future150 as we continue to track Norman's progress during his senior season at Prominence Academy.
