Central Texas Bulls Elite Win 12U Title In Houston

Houston, TX (Future150) -- The Central Texas Bulls Elite brought home the 12U division championship at Future150 Main Event Houston this past weekend, beating the WeIT Ballers (LA) by a score of 52-51 in a thrilling title game. The catalyst all weekend long for the Bulls was 2023 point guard prospect Deion Ware. The 5'3" lefty scored 11 points in the championship game and did damage all weekend long with his long range shooting while using his speed in transition to get easy buckets. Three other Bulls scored in double figures in the title game, including guards T.J. Hooper with 15 points, Jamyron Keller with 14 points & Mikal Harrison with 12 points.

Future150 Main Event Houston 12U Standouts:

Deion Ware, 2023 SG, Central Texas Bulls Elite (TX): The 5'3" combo guard was knocking down shots from the perimeter all weekend long in Houston, eventually leading his team to the 12U championship. He's a tenacious defender who can play both guard positions on the floor, but he's at his best when he's being counted on to score the basketball. 

Demarcus Singleton, 2023 PG, WeIT Ballers (LA): The 5'7" point guard was one of the strongest and most skilled guards in his age division, and was the leader of his Louisiana-based squad, leading them all the way to the title game. He's a smooth prospect with good ball-handling skills and uses his frame well to get into the lane and finish plays. Right now, he's certainly one of the best young guards in the Southeast at his position. 

Shad Levy, 2023 SF, Louisiana Heat Elite (LA): The 5'8" wing prospect did a little bit of everything for his team in Houston. He showed that he could score the ball in multiple ways, and was very good when operating out of the high-post for his team. The Dutchtown Middle School (LA) player should continue to evolve into a solid prospect as he improves his ball skills and perimeter shooting.

Taij Tillman, 2023 Post, WeIT Ballers (LA): The player with potentially the most upside in his age division was the 6'3" lefty post prospect. While it's obvious he's got a long way to go on the offensive end, he scored well at the rim, defended & rebounded the ball very well on offense and defense. With his size as a 6th grader, it's hard not to imagine him becoming a touted post prospect in Louisiana down the line. 

Mikal Harrison, 2023 Post, Central Texas Bulls Elite (TX): Even though Harrison doesn't have the size of Tillman, he still stands at nearly six feet tall as a current 6th grader and is probably more skilled in the paint as well. He dominated the glass for the Bulls throughout the weekend and definitely made his presence known down low. 

Kordarius Williams, 2023 CG, RL9 (TX): Showing off his flashy handles and good scoring abilities, Williams got plenty of buckets during pool play on Saturday. His advanced handles and electric speed allowed him to get into the lane on command and get high percentage shots around the rim. Certainly one of most fun players to watch in the younger divisions throughout the weekend. 

Eric Buhman Jr., 2023 CG, Team Crossover Elite (TX): Buhman led his squad in scoring during most of the pool play games and that can be credited to his high basketball IQ at such a young age. He always knew where to place himself on offense or what the best way to break down the defense was. He was a solid rebounder and stayed in front of his man on defense as well.

Joshua Ahmuty, 2023 SG, TBT Sports Disciples (TX): Showing off balanced scoring throughout the weekend, Ahmuty scored in multiple ways. He can score off the drive, or of the catch-and-shoot. Standing at around 5'4", he was overwhelmed by most of his defenders size, but still found a way put the ball in the basket multiple times.  

Henry Thomas, 2025 PG, Texas Inferno (TX): Playing up two age groups, the competition was difficult for the young guard, but he managed to find ways to score over bigger defenders and was fearless when attacking the rim. As he grows, expect him to continue to sharpen his skills against older age groups in the Houston area.
