Humble, TX (Future150) -- Kevin Dawson is a rising senior at Humble high school in Texas, and had a big time showing at a few Future150 events this year. Most recently he attended the Future150 Houston Camp and had a very good showing, making the all-star game.
He is a 6'3 shooting guard that uses his athleticism and balanced scoring on offense to make his presence felt when he's on the floor. Over the summer he really tried to improve on multiple parts of his game.
"This summer was great! I think I improved in (my explosiveness), moving off the ball, being a leader, and just keep my teammates involved in the game," Dawson said. "I need to keep working in the weight room to continue getting bigger, and a little more work on my ball handling."
You would think a scoring guard with good athleticism, explosiveness, and size would have at least a few D2/low-major D1 offers but Dawson continues to fly under the radar to this day.
"Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Pepperdine, and Saint Thomas," Dawson said. "Those are the only schools (showing interest) right now, but no offers."
Even though there are no offers on the table yet, there is still one more basketball season left for him to showcase his talents. This is his upcoming senior season at Humble, and he has a few things on his mind that he wants to accomplish.
"I would like us to make it deep into the playoffs, for a couple years we've been first rounders and we'd like to change that this year," Dawson said. "My personal goal is to be MVP of the district!"
Definitely not some bad goals to be carrying into your final season of high school basketball, local coaches in Texas need to get a look or two at this kid, because he can play!
