Houston, TX (Future150) -- With the first few live periods in the books, plenty of players are seeing their stocks and recruitment sky rocket. One of these prospects being 2017 PG Rick Nelson Jr. of Team Texas Elite. Commonly called "Doc", Nelson has really improved on almost all facets of his game.

"I think I've shown that I can run a team, defend, and score the ball when needed," Neslon said. "My main focus has been getting stronger and finishing through contact."

The Future150 alumni's list currently stands at seven offers coming from Houston Baptist, Lamar, Northern Arizona, Texas A&M Corpus-Christi, Texas-Rio Grande Valley, UT-Arlington, and Weber State. His most recent offers have came from UT-Arlington, and Houston Baptist and he has also seen a handful of schools begin to show interest in him.

"I've seen new interest from Louisiana Tech, Tulsa, Boise State, Bucknell, Furman, Northeastern, and Illinois State," Nelson said. "The schools that have been making me a priority are the ones that have offered me recently, including Arlington, and Houston Baptist."

Nelson has the type of skill set that could excel at a mid-major program at the next level. He has killer speed off the dribble and can create plays for his teammates in both the half-court and transition. His three point shot has improved drastically and his overall IQ of the game is very solid.

Even though his recruitment may just now be getting warmed up, Nelson is a rising senior and it's always good to get out and see some of the schools and campuses that you may be spending the next four years of your life at.

"My dad and I plan on sitting down soon and schedule some visits during June," Nelson said.

Now that he has solidified himself as a big time playmaker, Nelson should continue to watch his offer list grow. Stay locked in with Future150 as we track Nelson's development and recruitment heading forward.
