Philadelphia, PA (Future150) -- Philadelphia (PA) Neumann Goretti point guard Ja'Quan Newton is officially off the board.
Newton, a 6-foot-3 guard who ran with Team Final on the AAU circuit, made his commitment to Miami on Wednesday.
The No. 43 overall player in the 2014 Future150 rankings chose the Hurricanes over Minnesota, Villanova, Syracuse, Georgetown, and a host of other schools.
Newton averaged 17 points and six assists last season.
Despite not visiting campus yet, the talented scorer joins a talented duo of Adonys Henriquez and James Palmer as 2014 commits.
Larranaga and his staff's concerns now turn to a big man to bring to The U.
