Deptford, NJ (Future150) -- As college basketball season nears, most media and fans can't help but get excited about the freshman class entering the game this year. Now more than ever, freshmen are having a major impact as soon as they set foot on campus. In New Jersey, it appears one high school freshman will have a similar impact at his new school.
Bryan Antoine is a big combo guard who can shoot the ball very well. He also has fantastic vision and can create for both himself and others. Throw in elite level athleticism, and it's clear that he is one of the best prospects in the state of New Jersey. Playing at The Ranney School with fellow 5-star prospect and AAU teammate Scottie Lewis, Antoine appears poised for a big freshman season.
"It's going to be pretty easy for me, having Scottie with me means I won't have to pick up all of the slack offensively, it's good to know he's got my back," he said of playing with Lewis at the high school level.
While schools have begun to recruit players at a younger and younger age, it's important to realize that Antoine is really just beginning his journey through grassroots basketball. Still, he enters this season with a considerable amount of hype.
Virginia, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Tulsa and Colgate have all sent questionaires recently, as it is still very early in the recruitment process.
"I'd like to hear from Duke, I like them the most, I like how they win, they won the national championship and that's what I want to do," said Antoine.
For now, he is focused on improving and getting ready for a freshman season that could turn him from a regional prospect, into a national one.
