Los Angeles, CA (Future150) -- After a flurry of commitments from 2014 prospects over the weekend, UCLA landed a big commit of their own on Monday night, picking up a pledge from Future150's #58 rising senior, Trevon Bluiett.
The 6-foot-5 Park Tudor (IN) wing chose the Bruins over scholarship offers from Arizona, Butler, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, and Xavier.
By hiring former Park Tudor coach Ed Schilling as an assistant in Westwood, it all but sealed the deal for UCLA to lande one of the best prospects in the Hoosier State. Now, the high volume scorer is looking forward to recruiting some other big name recruits to the West Coast, namely Quentin Snider and Justice Winslow.
After averaging 27.8 points and nine rebounds per game last season, Trevon is one of the frontrunners for Indiana Mr. Basketball honors heading into his senior season.
Don't be surprised if the talented wing also gets heavy consideration for one or more of the prestigious postseason high school all-star games at seasons end, including the McDonald's All-American Game and/or the Jordan Brand Classic.
Comments:
Looks like Alford is gonna be a major player for his home state talent now. Disappointed that he had to play the “Danny Manning” card, ( hire the kids coach-mentor ) to steal him from UM though.
