Charlottesville, VA (Future150) -- It isn’t often you come across a junior in high school with 6’9” size and a perimeter skillset.  Miller School (VA) product Isaac Copeland, however, fits that description well, and his game is far from a finished product.

Playing with Garner Road on the AAU circuit, Copeland saw his recruitment blow up in the summer months.  His production and obvious potential drew the eyes of multiple high major programs, and many of them were quick to act, as offers came pouring in.

Copeland says NC State, Georgetown, Virginia, West Virginia, Florida State, Miami, Cincinnati, Rutgers, and Memphis have all extended offers and that Cincinnati, Georgetown, and Florida State are recruiting him the hardest right now.

He already has taken unofficial visits to North Carolina, NC State, Rutgers, Florida State, Miami, West Virginia, and Georgetown and says each of them went well but no school sticks out as a favorite yet.  The priority now is to simply get a feel for each school and what they have to offer.

What would one of these schools be getting in Copeland?  A rapidly improving and athletic three man with an extremely high ceiling.

Copeland has range out to the three point line and is already becoming a capable ball handler at his size.  Down the road, he is going to be someone who can be used in a lot of different offensive situations.  His shooting ability stretches defenses, and his willingness to put it on the floor makes him a multi-dimensional player.  Once he learns to fully take advantage of these skills and own them, the result will be a matchup nightmare.

“I think a big strength is pulling up in the midrange game and using my length against smaller guys,” he says.

The focus regarding development he says is on becoming stronger and further developing his quickness and ball handling ability.  Miller School will have him playing the three, so expect him to expand his perimeter game even more throughout his final two high school seasons.

Players with his potential are always fun to track, and he’ll be no different.  Ranked #80 in the most recent Future150 national rankings, Copeland has every opportunity to outperform that spot and prove his value to be even greater.  The talent and upside are there.  If he makes the most of it, there is no real limit to what he can do.
