Philadelphia, PA (Future150) -- The Kobe Bryant Holiday Classic at Lower Merion High School (PA) was the first of the three days held by the Play-by-Play Classics. The four games had plenty of talent in all of them and showcased some of the top talent in Philadelphia as well as out of state talent. Here’s who stood out at the event:

Jonathan Lawton, 2015 SG, Friends Central: Lawton can heat up in a hurry and can put points on the board from anywhere in the gym. He is a bit undersized for a shooting guard and needs to get stronger but with his natural  scoring ability he is one for low-major schools to track.

Amir Hinton, 2015 SG, Abington: Hinton is a long and lanky wing who has a nose for the ball and can score it at the rim. He also has a great looking shot. He needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end of the ball but is another fringe division one player to keep an eye on.

Justin Jenifer, 2015 PG, Milford Mill: He is an explosive guard who plays bigger than his 5-foot-9 frame would indicate. He is cat-quick and has good vision. The next step for him will be working on his shot selection and becoming more of a shot maker rather than just a shot taker.

Ahmad Gilbert, 2015 SF, Constitution: The recent recipient of an offer from Rhode Island, it is easy to see why coaches like him. He has good size for his position and a deadly mid-range jumper as well. He plays hard and is developing more guard skills, he is squarely in the conversation to jump in the Future150 rankings for his class once we expand them to 150.

Chris Clover, 2015 SG, St. Joe’s Prep: Clover is a big guard who is comfortable creating his own shot or operating within the offense. He is a high IQ player who knows he needs to put points on the board for his team to succeed but is a tad hesitant in that role. Once he becomes comfortable with being the go-to guy he will only get better.

Josh Sharkey, 2016 PG, Archbishop Carroll: Standing at just 5-foot-9, his size raises some concern. That being said, he is extremely talented. He has good vision and with his speed is very hard to stay in front of. On the defensive end he gets up into his defenders and turns them over.

Jule Brown, 2015 PF, Lower Merion: Brown is an interesting prospect because he is long and lanky. He runs the floor well and rebounds it too. He needs to add strength to play at a higher level but the upside is here.
