Northport, AL (Future150) -- Former Wichita State assistant Chris Jans has always been high on 2014 Sipsey Valley (Ala.) power forward Rasheed Worrell, a former Appalachian State signee.
So it only made sense when Jans was introduced as the head coach at Bowling Green for him to pursue the 6-foot-8 big man - and his relationship with Worrell paid off.
Following a weekend official visit to campus, Worrell gave his commitment to the staff Monday evening.
"Coach Jans believes in me and saw potential and skill in me way early in the process," Worrell told Future150.com. "He believes in me and will work with me."
The campus' desire to be winner also played into Worrell's decision.
"The community is hungry for it. They want some winners. They want to taste it, it's obvious. It is a strong, tight campus."
"Being the building blocks to something is even more exciting [from a playing standpoint]."
Worrell also considered Loyola-Chicago, Tulane, Murray State, and Western Kentucky.
