Jacksonville, FL (Future150) -- Oklahoma has quietly been putting together one of the more solid classes in the Big 12, and added to it this morning with their 2nd Top 150 commit.
Dante Buford picked the Sooners over the likes of Miami (FL) and South Carolina and gives them another athletic body in their front court. The talented forward transferred to ACD last season and hasn't looked back.
Originally a native of South Carolina, it seemed inevitable that Frank Martin and the Gamecocks would get him, but in the end it wasn't the case. Buford will pair with fellow top 150 big man Khadeem Lattin, giving the Sooners a couple of athletic forwards who compliment each other well.
While Lattin is a shotblocker and can score with his back to the basket, Buford can face up and attack the rim. Both can score on the block and facing up, making them potential matchup problems for opposing frontcourts. Perhaps the best asset they share is their ability to run the floor well, making them a good fit for Lon Kruger's system.
With one scholarship left for this year, don't be surprised if the Sooners elect to stash it and focus on 2015. With two talented players already in the fold, there is little need to rush another commitment. Lon Kruger has quietly gone about his business and built Oklahoma back up, and Buford will have the opportunity to star there.
