Philadelphia, PA (Future150) -- As the calarder has turned to 2016, most schools are turning their recruiting focus to 2017. The shooting guard crop looks to be especially deep, and one familiar name is taking his game to another level.
David Beatty has been a high-level recruit for a couple of years now, but a transfer from Archbishop Carroll (PA) to St. Benedict's (NJ) has benefitted the Philadelphia native more than most could have imagined.
He has turned heads with a number of big performances in showcases around the northeast, and with an improved jumper, it appears that Beatty is poised to climb the rankings.
"I've really beenn working on my jump shot and my handle. We put in a lot of work and I get up at 5 in the morning to work on my game, transferring to St. Benedict's has helped me become better on the court and as a person," Beatty said of his transfer.
Arizona State, Georgetown, Maryland, Villanova, Miami, and St. John's are ampng the programs that have been recruiting him and are making the most effort in recent weeks. It will be interesting to see what schools are represented in Springfield this weekend and who is truly making Beatty a priority.
The Gray Bees of St. Benedict's will take on Findlay Prep (NV) on Sunday afternoon, giving Beatty another opportunity to prove himself. Don't be surprised to see the wing pick up a couple of offers coming out of the weekend.
