HOUSTON, TX (Future150) -- Class of 2018 guard Miller Kopp is making a name for himself in the Houston area, but better yet in Texas. The high-volume scorer has a lethal jumpshot.
Future150.com talked to Kopp about his transition from being just a shooter to expanding his game by putting the ball on the floor and creating his own shot.
"I had to get better offensively, I have improved from just being a shooter to bring a all around scorer," said Kopp. "Also my defense and athleticism have been things that I have improved since last year."
Making the transition from middle school to high school basketball was different for Kopp too, but this basketball season he has adjusted just fine.
"The transition from middle school to high school is a lot different," said Kopp. "Like the speed of the game, the size and athleticism of the players are a big difference. But it's something that I've been preparing for."
Kopp credits his AAU team Basketball University for his readiness.
"Basketball University is a great program, with great coaches and players," said Kopp. "What I think separates them from other AAU programs is how intense and high level the workouts and practices are, which has gotten me a lot better."
Kopp isn't satisfied with being one of the top guards in his class in Texas. He wants to be one of the top 2018 guards in the country.
"For this summer I want to play against the best AAU teams in the country and the best competition in the country and show that I am one of the best shooting guards in the country," Kopp said.
The Future150 staff will keep following Kopp's progress. He is certainly a guard that has chance to blow up this summer.
