Atlanta, GA (Future150) -- Justin Johnson is a rising freshman playing on the loaded Atlanta Celtics 14U squad, and recently had a nice showing at the Future150 Main Event Atlanta Tournament. As a 5'11" bully G/F, he is one of the most physically imposing players on his team.

This is a big transition year for Johnson, as he will be making the jump from middle school to high school and he has some parts of his game he's wanting to improve upon over the course of his final AAU season as a middle schooler.

"I'm trying to develop more of a consistent mid-range and three-point jump shot," Johnson said. "I also want to improve my bounce and see my team win the NYBL Finals and other big showcase tournaments."

Not only is he a standout prospect on the hardwood, but he is also known for his supreme talents on the gridiron. He definitely uses some of his experience and knowledge on the football field to his advantage on the basketball court.

"My strong body allows me to take advantage of smaller, weaker guards on post-ups and when attacking a gap from the wing," he said. "Playing football has also helped me learn to use my shoulders and legs when boxing out taller defenders for a rebound."

Not only did Johnson shoot the ball well and make smart plays, but he was easily one of the best rebounding guards in the entire tournament regardless of age division. He is an extremely fun player to watch with his super strong frame, pesky on-ball defense, and unselfish play on the offensive end.

It is going to be very interesting to see how Johnson's future plays out with him being a standout prospect in two sports. If he winds up growing another couple inches and converts fully to the two-spot, he has a chance to be an intriguing D1 prospect, as he is also likely to be a D1 recruit on the football field as well.

Stay locked in with Future150 as we continue to track Johnson's progress as he heads into his high school career.
