Lancaster, TX (Future150) -- Deon Barrett Jr. had a great year, leading Lancaster High School the 5A State Championship Game. He showcased his elite scoring abilities, as well.
Barrett Jr. (2016) also made the UIL All-Tournament team. He looks to keep the momentum going.
"I want to have as many college choices as I can and perform well against the best the nation has to offer," Barrett Jr. said.
Strengths
Barrett Jr. excels at shooting from deep, occasionally a couple feet behind the three point line. The guard is consistently a floor general on the court, which has been integral for his school's success this season.
"One of my strengths is my shooting and scoring abilities, but I feel I can change my mindset from being a scorer to a passer and still be effective," Barrett Jr. said. "However, I still have to improve physically and continue to improve mentally to be where I need to be."
Barrett Jr. is one of the top Texas guards in his class because of his fearless attitude and he does the little things that make him a pure point guard.
This past AAU season Barrett played with Texas Select and shot a high percentage from three.
Barrett has interest from Louisiana Tech. Central Michigan, Weber State, UTEP, North Texas and University of Omaha-Nebraska.
