Dallas, TX (Future150) -- The Arkansas Heat Elite were crowned champions of the 2017 Future150 Main Event Dallas tournament, taking down the NTX Slam by a score of 55-46. Jacob Sanders led the charge for the Heat, scoring 14 points. Bralin Nieves also finished in double figures, scoring 10 points, while Jordan Rainey scored nine. In a losing effort, Travis Massey and Amiri Crowder both scored 11 points for the Slam. In the Silver Division Championship, AKYB Elite took down Houze Elite 62-50. Rising sophomore Danny Cartwright Jr. was a force all weekend for the tournament winners, while Kristopher O'Neal had a steady showing in a losing effort.

Jay Wilson, 2020 SF, Bluestar Shooters (TX): One of the brightest young stars in the state of Texas is the 6’7” small forward, who already has a huge reputation. He’s an aggressive slasher who is very good when finishing around the rim. He uses his length to his advantage on both ends of the floor, and certainly has the tools to be a national level high-major recruit in the next few years.
Travis Massey, 2020 F, NTX Slam (TX): The 6’6” combination forward was a standout at Dallas Battleground two weekends ago, and he continued his strong play on the opening Friday night at Dallas Battleground, scoring 22 points with ease while doing so from around the rim and from the mid-range level. Once he fully transitions to the small forward spot full-time, watch out!
Jacob Sanders, 2020 SG, Arkansas Heat Elite (AR): A relentless slasher at 5'9", the wiry scorer would not be denied in Dallas. Not only is he a capable scoring going to the rim, but he is an unselfish passer as well, who will do whatever it takes for his team to get the win. Overall, he got better as the weekend went on, which caught our eye.
Donovan Payne, 2020 F, Bluestar Shooters (TX): Already possessing a great frame to work with at 6’6” with long arms, the combination forward was terrific Friday night, playing above the rim, finishing with several huge dunks in a blowout win. He also rebounded the ball well and showed some nice ball skills when working in transition. Early in his high school career, he’s easily identified as a division one prospect.
Jordan Rainey, 2020 PG, Arkansas Heat Elite (AR): Maybe the best perimeter shooter in the tournament, the 5'8" guard had the moment of the event when he knocked down three consecutive three's for his team, including a game winning, buzzer-beater to give the Heat Elite a win in pool play. He's not short on confidence, making him a very dangerous offensive player.
Alerick Hall, 2020 PG, Texas Warriors (TX): A tough point guard who loves to penetrate to the rim, he showed out during his opening game on Friday night, finishing with 15 points against a very good NTX Slam team. Not only is he capable of getting buckets around the rim in traffic, but he doesn’t back down from physical play on the defensive end either.
Dillon Johnson, 2020 PG, Mississippi Elite (MS): One of the toughest prospects in the tournament was the strong 6-foot guard. While he can initiate the offense for his peers, his bread and butter is his scoring ability, as he put up several huge games during his time at Main Event Dallas Tournament. Overall, it was an excellent weekend for the rising sophomore.
Caleb Spann, 2020 PF, Memphis Royals (TN): The 6’3” big man is one of the more physically intimidating prospects you’ll see in the 15U age division, and he plays to his strengths on the floor. He’s a bully on the interior, scoring at will in the paint. He also rebounds the ball well and defends excellently.
Chol Deng, 2019 PG, Elite Academy Ducks (TX): The speedy point guard had a good weekend in Dallas. He loves to attack the rim, constantly putting pressure on the defense. He also showed that he can knock down perimeter shots on occasion as well. On defense, he loves to get into passing lanes and cause chaos.
Danny Cartwright Jr., 2020 PF, AKYB Elite (AR): One of the bounciest prospects in the tournament was the 6’3” post, who plays bigger than his size due to his outstanding athleticism. He has an endless motor, and never gave up on plays on either end. His rim-protection skills are superb and showed that he can finish plays around the rim as well.
Jaylynn Sparkman, 2020 SF, Pack Elite (TX): Another physically impressive prospect, the 6’2” small forward uses his brute strength and athleticism to make a lasting impression. He is very good when scoring around the rim, is a standout rebounder on both ends of the floor, and is an excellent on-ball defender as well.
Xavier Calhoun, 2020 SG, Missouri City Ballers (TX): The tough lefty is a clear spark plug for his team when he’s on the floor. He is more than capable of getting hot from the perimeter at any time, and we saw him knock down consecutive three’s on multiple occasions this AAU season. On defense, he plays physical and does a good job of being vocal.
J’Darrius Prunty, 2020 SF, BTA Bulls (TX): Sporting some very good length on top of having a solid 6’2” height, there’s a lot to like for the Texas prospect down the road. He showed that he can score the basketball on multiple levels, and we’re excited to see how his game develops over the coming years with his physical gifts.
David Dworaczyk, 2020 Post, Houze Elite (TX): A developing post prospect, he’s blessed with very good size, already standing in the 6’5” range. He plays with an endless motor, which is promising for his future. He is a capable rebounder on both ends of the floor, and showed ability to be a disruptive defensive presence as well.
