Pottsville, PA (Future150) -- It looks like one of the most talented young basketball prospects in the state of Kentucky is 2021 point guard Anthony Skipworth. Hailing from Beaver Dam, the 5'9", 165-pound floor general is playing varsity this season for Oak Ridge Christian Academy (KY).
Coming off of a strong AAU season with Southern Illinois Select, one in which he led his team to a 34-3 record and a trip to the elite eight at AAU Nationals in Orlando, he's ready to take his game to another level.
He regularly spends anywhere from six to eight hours per day in the gym between morning workouts, practice after school & workouts with his coach and trainer, Greg Keown.
"From an early age, I've drilled into him that if he wants this, he needs to stay in the gym and live in the gym," Keown told Future150.
While his ball-handling, strong frame, fast hands & shooting ability are all impressive aspects of his game, his drive and determination to be the best make him a rare breed of player.
"He's very mature for his age. He's started from the bottom, and he knows what that feels like, and he doesn't want to be there again. He takes this very seriously," Keown said.
Along with training to be the best, he also studies game film of basketball talents such as former Sacramento Kings star Jason Williams and NBA MVP Steph Curry in order to pick up new dimensions to add to his game.
With continued work and dedication, it's easy to envision him achieving his goal of becoming a division one basketball player. So stay tuned to Future150 for updates as we track his progress.
