Charlottesville, VA (Future150) -- While there were several prospects that impressed on Day One at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, none stood out more than Anthony Barber.
Known as "Cat" for his speed and quickness, Barber showed why he deserves to be noted as one of the top point guards in the country. He constantly lived in the lane, finishing for himself or dishing to his teammates.
With such talent, many schools are vying for his services, but he says two schools are sticking out right now.
"I would say Kansas and Alabama are separating themselves right now," he began. "But I would say Virginia, Syracuse, and UConn round out my top."
Barber says he has felt very strong about the Tide for quite some time now.
"I like Alabama. I really like Coach [Anthony] Grant a lot. We talk a good bit, too. He is a laid back guy, but he gives everything to you straight up. I like that."
The close relationship with Grant could lead to some big news for Alabama. With such a good point guard, Barber could lead others to play with him.
Before a decision is made, the 6-foot-1 playmaker says he plans to take an unofficial to Tuscaloosa in the near future.
"I'm going to take an unofficial to see their facilities soon. I'm looking forward to it," Barber explained.
Expect Barber to take an official to Alabama in the fall, too.
