Nashville, TN (Future150) -- This weekend was big for Vanderbilt. They had three very important visitors in Wade Baldwin, Trey Kell, and Matt Fisher-Davis. For a team that is looking to restock on talent, landing a commitment from one of the three was very important.

On Sunday morning they did just that, as Wade Baldwin was the first to commit to the 'Dores for this class.

Baldwin should have an immediate impact when he gets on campus. At 6-foot-3, he can play either guard position. He also has a toughness to him and that "killer instinct" that allows players to play at their best when it matters most.

Simply put, Wade is an ultimate competitor. He uses his size well and locks in defensively. On the offensive end he changes speeds well while going to the rim and his vision is under-rated.

His ability to play either guard spot is especially important for Vanderbilt. The Commodores have lost a good amount of talent the past two off seasons and must reload if they want to stay relevant in the hyper-competitve SEC.

With Baldwin's versatility, both Kell and Fisher-Davis are still realistic gets for Vandy. Fisher-Davis is more of a shooter while Kell is more of an all-around scorer. Baldwin could pair with one or both of them to create a nice backcourt moving forward.

In the end, Baldwin was always looking for a school that could be competitve on the floor while still offering great academics. Vandy fits that model. Staying close to home was never really a factor for him, so it's no surprise to see him trek to Nashville.

Baldwin will now set his sights on a New Jersey Tournament of Champions title. He will also focus on recruiting guys to join him at Vandy. Look for him to break into our rankings following a strong summer
