Birmingham, AL (Future150) -- The Future150 Alabama Spring Classic was held last weekend in Birmingham, AL and teams from 4 states were on hand. The tournament showcased teams in the 2024-2029 classes boys and girls. The event was a huge success and tons of talent on hand competing and looking to get their names on the radar.
Let's take a look at some of the top talent who was on hand and how they played on the weekend.
2025 PG Braylon Henry of JSI Elite was one of the biggest surprises in the tournament. His overall play and leadership helped his team take home the Gold Championship and him being named MVP of the tournament. Henry can score on all three levels and is hell on wheels in the open floor. He makes everyone around him better and led his team in scoring averaging 19 points and 7 assists on the weekend.
2026 SF Caiden Ricks of the Alabama Wolves was a top 5 prospect in the tournament. His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor makes in him an intriguing college level prospect. High level offensive rebounding and finishing at the rim is what stands out when you watch Rick's play. He averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds on the weekend.
2024 SG TIm Austin of the Iron City Huskies plays with a ton of energy and makes plays on both ends of the floor. His ability to score in bunches and make everyone around him better gives him a special trait most players don't have. He averaged 14 points and 4 assits on the weekend. 2028 SG Carson Todd of Team Grind is definitely a prospect on the rise and led his team to the championship game. His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor is what sets him apart. The ability to score from all over the floor and guard the best player on the other team makes him special. He can play all 5 positions and is a great on ball defender. He averaged 16 points 10 rebounds and 4 blocks on the weekend. Look for him to make his debut in the Top 10 Prospects in 2028 class.
2024 CG Bradley Pearson of AR Elite out of the Auburn, AL area is super fundamental player who makes the right play. He's rock solid on both ends of the floor and knocks down the open jumper with consistency. He averaged 11.5 points and 4 assists on the weekend. As he becomes more athletic, look for his game to take the next step towards becoming a college prospect.
2027 SF JaMarcus Hughley of Hyttas Basketball is a complete monster on the boards and made a living scoring around the rim. At 6-foot-3 inches tall he punished his defenders when scoring. He is a good athlete who uses his size and athleticism to his favor. He averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds on Sunday alone.
2029 PG Jayden Johnson of the Steel City Gators is one of the more intriguing players we saw this past weekend. He can play all 5 poistions, scores on all three levels and his a great rebounder finisher at the rim. His skill level is much higher than most kids his age which allowed him to average 16 points and 9 rebounds on the weekend. This prospect has a ton of upside to his game and lets pray he continues to grow.
2025 PG Justin Nelson of the Iron City Huskies is a lead guard who can make plays from anywhere on the court. His court vision, ball handling and decision making is off the charts. Once his on ball defense catches up with his overall offensive game, the sky is the limit for this talented prospect. Hard work, basketball IQ and being a leader is what stands out when you watch him play. He averaged 10.5 points and 6 assists to go along with 3 steals per game on the weekend.
2028 SG Derrick Bandy of AR Elite is a very intriguing prospect with a ton of upside to his game. He plays shooting guard for his team but that is just a small sample of what he can truly do on the court. He can run the show, defend the best player and rebound at a high level if need be. He averaged 13 points and 5 rebounds on the weekend. When you say upside to a prospect, Bandy's photo is present.
2028 Cordel McNeal of DK Trigger Boys had a nice weekend scoring the rock. He is a isolation player who loves getting down hill on his defender and making plays for his teammates. He led his team in scong averaging 13 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds on the weekend. As his shooting becomes more consistent look for his game to take the next step.
2028 PG Will Sanders of Team Grind is a long wiry prospect who screams upside when you watch him play. This young 5-foot-10 inch guard is learning to play both guard positions and at times is very productive. At the moment, Sanders is making his living on the defensive end of the floor where is a lock down defender. As his atleticism and skill level grows look for this young prospect to make his move up the prospect list fast. He averaged 13.5 points and 5 steals per game on the weekend.
2028 Kade Garcia of Storm Elite is a very player with a ton of upside to his game. He has great size at 6-foot-3 inches tall and a body that likes to bang in the post. He made a living on offensive rebounds all weekend long. As he gets more athletic and works on his agility, the sky is the limit for this prospect. He averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds on the weekend.
2027 SG Romarian Graves of Wilcox Dream Team was Mr. Hustle all weekend long. His competitve fire and willing to compete on every play made him stand out above everyone. He is a tenacious defender and loves scoring in transition. Once is skill set catches his athleticism, look out as this prospect will be hard to deal with in the future. He averaged 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals on the weekend.
2026 SG Kendrick Berry of Iron City Huskies is a bucket when the ball is in his hands. He can score on all three levels and makes it look easy while doing it. He can guard the best player on the floor and has the ability to play both guard positions. A coach wants the ball in his hands when the game is on the line. The overall upside to his skill level is off the charts. Keep working young fella. He averaged 13 points and 2 assists on the weekend.
