Guntersville, AL (Future150) -- The 2019 AAU season kicked off last weekend and the Future150 Tournament Series was at its first stop in Alabama.  The tournament was at Supreme Courts 3-Court facility in Guntersville, AL.  Teams from all over the state were in attendance in the 17U-12U age groups boys and girls.

The 17U Girls division championship game featured the Alabama Elite vs Alabama Celtics with the Elite taking home the title.  It was a hard fought game in the first half with both teams making big runs.  In the second half, the Elite pulled away to win 54-32.

Let's take a look at few of the top performers on the weekend.

Piper Spears- 2021, SG of the Alabama Elite takes home MVP honors from the tournament.  Moving with out the ball, finding her spots and shot making ability is what makes her unstoppable. She put on a shooting clinic from beyond the arch all weekend long averaging 4 threes per game.. She hit 6 threes and scored 25 points in a big win during pool play and helped her team take home the 17U Championship. #MVP #Sniper #College

Bailee Usrey- 2020, PG of SSBA is a pure lead guard with elite court vision and plays within herself when she has the ball. He ball handling skills allows her to keep the defender off guard and allows her to attack the rim at will. Scoring on all three levels, playing fundamentally sound and making the open jumpers are what catch your eye when you watch her play.  No brainer college player.

Melaja Alford- 2021, PG of the Alabama Celtics is a lead guard who has nice ball handling skills and can score on the fast break. She had a big game in brack play bringing her team back from 16-2 deficit in the first half. Speed, court vision and being a good finisher at the rim is what sets her apart from the competition. She score 11 points 6 assists in comeback win 37-34. 

Natalie Hunt- 2020, CG of SSBA is a downhill attacker off the dribble from the wing position. Rebounding, starting the fast break and making open shots are things that come to mind when you watch her play. Her consistent mid and long range jumper helped keep her team in games.  Coaches, she has the size, skill and athleticism to play college basketball. Weekend Stats: 11 points 4 assists and 5 rebs per game.

Amari Springer- 2021,SF of the Alabama Celtics plays extremely hard on every possession and never gives up on a play. She has quick feet, runs the floor well and likes to most of her damage on the fast break. Offensive rebounding and on ball defense are two of her bigges strenghts whens she is on the court. Weekend Stats: 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Mackenzie White- 2021, PG of the Alabama Elite is a big time prospect who knows how to control the game and lead her team from the lead guard. Ball handling, court vision and feel for the game are things that stand out in her game. Long arms, ball awareness and the ability to rebound on both ends make this prospect one a college coach can trust. Weekend Stats: 14 points 4 assists and 6 rebounds per game..
