Orlando, FL (Future150) -- It looks like momentum is back on the side of the USC Trojans. After losing a commitment from Seattle Garfield (WA) forward J'Raan Brooks a few weeks ago, the Trojans landed a commitment from top 40 prospect Elijah Weaver on Monday. The addition of the Oldsmar Christian (FL) guard puts USC back in the top five nationally for the 2018 cycle.
The 6'5" southpaw is coming off a particularly impressive AAU season with Team Breakdown, where he showed stretches of dominance throughout the summer. The lefty is excellent as a penetrating guard and can lock down on the defensive end as well. While his perimeter shooting needs work, he's showed improvement in that area over the past 12 months.
Along with Weaver, the Trojans will also be bringing in top 50 prospects in Taeshon Cherry & Kevin Porter. With USC expected to have a huge season this year, it looks like they'll be competing for Pac-12 titles for years to come with the impressive haul they have coming in next year.
