Walkertown, NC (Future150) -- Jalen Cone is a freshman point guard that plays at Walkertown High School near Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Ranked in the top 50 of Future150's 2020 National Rankings, It could be argued that he's one of the best PG's in the state right now even though he just finished up middle school less than a year ago.

"I'm explosive, quick, and can score at any time I want to," Cone told Future150 when asked about what he thinks makes him an elite player. "I always get my teammates involved."

What Cone told Future150 sums up his game quite nicely in a few sentences. He has a very explosive first step that allows him to get to the rim on command, and has a silky-smooth mid-range jumper that can kill opposing defenders who try to lay off him a little bit in order to avoid him driving past them.

Not only can he score, but Cone has some of the best court vision out of all the prospects in the 2020 class. If the defense is being lazy and laying off someone a few possesions in a row, or he sees someone allowing their man to beat them down the court constantly, he takes mental notes of that and makes the defense pay all while racking up numbers in the assists stat column.

As of now he has seen interest from a handful of ACC programs including Duke, Georgia Tech, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. This summer he would like to get more in depth with these programs who are already keeping track of him.

"I have already taken a few visits around, but this summer I will visit every school to build a better relationship with the coaching staff," Cone said regarding if he had anything planned in terms of visits. "Maybe even turn my interest into offers," he added.

For now Cone will continue to have a big freshman year with Walkertown and keep garnering high-major interest early on. Keep an eye on him this summer as he will be running with Team Loaded NC on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit, where he could very possibly turn his interest into offers.
