New Orleans, LA (Future150) -- Annually, the New Orleans Super 60 attracts some of the best middle school talent nationally, and this past Memorial Day was no different. The most dominant post prospect in attendance was Florida center Marcus Dumervil, who was a man among boys in stature as well as production.
The 6'5", 260-pound big man showed excellent footwork, rebounded the ball well on both ends of the floor & showcased excellent touch around the rim while leading his Lauderhill Lions club to a Final Four berth in the 8th grade division.
Not surprisingly, he's a big time football prospect as well, and he's headed to Sunshine State power St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) in the fall. When asked about where his future is headed, he was very blunt about the topic.
"My future is in football, at least that's what people have been saying. But really, I love basketball, and I'm just trying to be the best player I can be in both sports."
For now, while he's certainly on the radar of nationally acclaimed college football programs, he's making waves on the hardwood as well.
