New York, NY (Future150) -- Archbishop Stepanic has consistently had talent over the years and despite losing two of their best players to transfer, will have a decent group this season as well.
One of the main reasons for the Crusaders to be optimistic is freshman point guard R.J. Davis. Despite standing at just 5-foot-10, Davis will have an immediate impact thanks to his ability to create shots for teammates and knock down shots from beyond the arc.
"I think this fall has prepared me mentally and physically for this high school season, but I think we're going to be good as long as we go out and play hard and just compete," Davis said of this season.
Despite being just a freshman, Davis boasts a pair of offers. Manhattan and ODU were the first to pull the trigger. Fordham and Cal have begun to show interest, with the Golden Bears attending an open gym earlier this year.
With the way the roster is constructed, Davis will be counted on to create and score for the Crusaders, which will only allow him to build his reputation even more. Also helping Davis will be the move to playing with the PSA Cardinals this season.
He is the type of player who gets better when talent is put around him, and elevates that talent in turn. Look for him to make an impact in the CHSAA in his first season in the league.
