Baton Rouge, LA (Future150) -- In terms of polished scorers, one of the best that the Future150 staff has seen in the 2020 class thus far emerged at the Elite24 Camp this past August in combo guard Keondre Brown.
The Louisiana scorer made the Elite24 All-American Game after showing off an impressive offensive arsenal, including a great mid-range pull-up jump shot, a steady three-ball & superb slashing ability.
Standing at 6'0" and a strong 170 pounds, the Denham Springs High School (LA) prospect is having a solid freshman season, averaging 14 points, five rebounds and three assists per game.
His success shouldn't come as a surprise, as his DNA has definitely contributed to his success. He is the cousin of Denham Springs legend and former LSU star Tasmin Mitchell, who is one of the most celebrated prep prospects in Louisiana state history. His sister Keeona Brown is currently a freshman playing at Nicholls State after having a standout prep career of her own at Walker High School (LA).
"My goals in the game of basketball are to eventually play D1, and to make it to the NBA," he told Future150 in reference to his future.
His AAU coach, Tiras Magee, has nothing but positive things to say about his star freshman, while comparing his playing style to Miami Heat microwave scorer Dion Waiters.
"He has a great mid-range game. What really makes him a special player is the work he puts in to get better. He's also very smart, listens well and has a great attitude," he said when speaking on Brown's strengths.
While it's certainly going to take a lot of hard work and a lot of highlights to catch up to his talented family members on the hardwood, he's off to a great start as a freshman.
