Sandersville, GA (Future150) -- The high school basketball hoops talent in the state of Georgia is always loaded with plenty of prospects who are slept on and overlooked. This past summer at Future150's All-Southeast Camp, one guard prospect in particular literally came out of no where, as no one had even heard of this young man.
Introducing 2020 CG Jarden Maze of Washington County High School out of Sandersville, Georgia. Running with the Middle Georgia Bucks on the AAU scene, we had never even heard of Maze until he arrived at camp. After he left, he was recieving great praise from multiple Future150 staff members.
"An impressive scorer at 6'0", the wiry combo guard showed excellent body control and finishing ability around the rim," Future150 GM Eric Hampford said of Maze. "He can also get hot from the perimeter during stretches, making him a nice three-level scorer."
"I consider myself a true combo guard, I can play both point and shooting guard comfortably," Maze said. "My length allows me to score when I want, and I always try to make the correct pass."
Maze has solid measurables for a sophomore guard standing a little over 6-foot in shoes and garnering a near 6'3' wingspan. He definitely uses that length to his advantage as he can easily shoot over the top of shorter guards and it also allows him to make difficult passes.
He does have some interesting bloodlines as both of his uncles, Robert Lee Edwards III and Terrence Edwards, have played in the NFL and CFL. So there's no questioning that he has some great athletic genes.
This should be an interesting prospect to follow down the line as Maze has plenty of room for growth, as he's just now only scratching the surface. Stay locked in with Future150 as we keep a close watch on him and other's in the Southeast region.
