Centereach, NY (Future150) -- Not many freshmen lead guards come into their first high school season and have the reigns to a powerhouse program handed to them, but Jalen Williams isn't just any freshman. The Pinewood Prep (SC) transfer got a late start to the season, but already looks incredibly comfortable running the show for Our Savior New American (NY).

There were signs that Williams would have a chance to be a high level point guard. At the Future150 Elite 24 camp, Williams was one of the best pure point guards in attendence; putting people on notice that he would be one to watch moving forward.

Fast forward to this past fall, and Williams had another terrific showing at Pangos All-East camp. It was then that he realized he had a chance to play at the highest level in high school and started to consider a move.

Luckily, the Pioneers were in need of a lead guard, and Williams was happy to bring his game to the Long Island-based program. Now he is one of the bright spots of a young core.

The College of Charleston had shown some very early interest before the move, as had Wake Forest. While no new suitors have appeared just yet, it is still ridiculously early in the recruiting process.

There could be another move in Williams' immediate future, as it is unclear who he will be playing with AAU yet, though signs are pointing to Southern Stampede out of Georgia. Wherever he ends up playing this spring, look for him to make some noise as one of the more talented point guards in 2019.
