Richmond, VA (Future150) -- While the recruiting process seems to be starting at an earlier age every year, not every potential division one athlete picks up a scholarship in their first high school season. Luckily for Viriginia Episcopal center Armando Bacot, he isn't just any freshman.

The big man impressed around this time last year at the Jr. Future150 Atlanta camp, where he was named Most Outstanding Player at the end of the weekend.

"I learned a few things about passing and making the right cut and also sharpened my help-side defense," Bacot said of the experience.

Fast forward to this year, and Bacot has really begun to hit his stride. He's scored in double digits in the past seven games, showing his full offensive arsenal. Few bigs his age have the offensive skills he does, making him coveted by colleges despite the recruiting process just beginning.

"I hear from Florida, VCU, Virginia Tech, Maryland, UVA, Stanford and UCF. I've visited VCU so far, and I'm going to set up some more once season is over," Bacot said of his recruitment.

On Friday, UCF was the first school to extend a scholarship offer. At 6-foot-8, 225 pounds, he has ideal size to be an impact player at the college level. Look for the Future150 Alum to pick up more offers this spring and summer as he hits the AAU circuit playing with Team Takeover.
