Memphis, TN (Future150) -- Jr.Future150 was back on the road again this week in Memphis, TN for the AAU 7th Grade Nationals. The stars of tomorrow were on display and here are the Day 2 top performers while teams competed in pool play.
Kyle Rode - (2019 SF - George Hill Rising Stars) The Lexington (KY) native was a standout on Tuesday with his length and athleticism on the wing. Rode has the ability to take it to the hoop off the bounce, while also sporting a nice pull-up jumper. Rode can push the ball in transition and find the open teammate at will. He is also an asset on the defensive end with his long arms and active hands.
Jaelen House - (2019 PG - I-10 Celtics) House stole the show on Tuesday night in a matchup against top-ranked point guard Tyger Campbell. The son of former NBA player Eddie House, Jaelen put his high-caliber bloodlines on display. The Phoenix (AZ) talent was unconcious from the outside on his way to a game-high 29 points. House has outstanding handles and court vision. He also showed off a smooth floater in the paint. House put himself in great position to make a major splash in the next Future150 rankings.
Jeremiah Francis - (2019 PG - All-Ohio Red) Francis is the engine that makes his team go when the ball is in his hands. With a bigger body at the point guard position, Francis has the ability to get to the hoop whenever he chooses. He has a high basketball IQ and all the tools that you look for in a playmaker. Francis is skilled at pushing the ball, and he always makes the right decision in the offense.
Balsa Koprivica - (2019 PF - Team Florida) With his size (6'9") and unique skill set, Koprivica is one of the most captivating talents in the 2019 class. He is destructive in the paint with his ability score, rebound and block shots. Koprivica has good footwork and can finish around the rim with authority. The most impressive aspect of his game is his versatility. He has a natural ability to handle the ball, and he has a good looking stroke from the outside. Koprivica's athleticism and all-around game makes for one of the higher ceilings in the class.
Kyle Sturdivant - (2019 SG - Memphis War Eagles) When you think about a player every coach wants on his team, look no further than Sturdivant. He can do it all and loves to score on all three levels. He can affect the game on both ends of the floor with his 'punish' style of play. Every time his team needed a bucket, he delivered. Look for him to only get better as his skills continue to grow.
Jovan Blacksher- (2019 PG - I-10 Celtics) Blackshear was completely dominant in his pool play game on Tuesday night in a big win over a nationally ranked opponent. He showed elite ball handling and court vision when breaking down the defense. He was able to get anywhere on the floor he chose to with the dribble. He showed the canny ablitly to finish at the rim over much bigger players with his floater. Tons of upside.
Dexter Shouse Jr.- (2019 SG - George Hill Rising Stars) Shouse is a super skilled all-around player who does it all for his team. He loves to score in transition and knows how to draw contact when finishing at the rim. His basketball IQ is extremely high and he is very coachable. He's just one of those players every coach wants on the floor in crunch time. Put simply, he knows how to win.
Keion Brooks - (2019 SF - George Hill Rising Stars) Brooks is super long and athletic, and he can score the rock in a variety of ways. His best attribute is definitely his abilty to rebound on the offensive end, while finishing at the rim. He runs the floor well and is a sneaky shot blocker from the weak side on the defensive end. Got to love this prospect's upside and as he gets stronger, look for him to improve rapidly.
