Okolona, MS (Future150) -- Class of 2018 wing forward Cam Smith has started his senior season at Okolona High School (MS), and has high hopes of adding some division one offers to his name.
After a terrific start to his season so far, he is looking as good as ever. Smith is a 6'6" versatile forward with the ability to play the two, three, and four spots. Now healthy, the D1's are really starting to take notice of him.
"Mississippi Valley State, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Southeastern Louisiana, Morehead State, and Tennessee State," Smith said when asked which programs have been showing interest in him recently. "Southeastern Louisiana calls or texts everyday and they built a bond with my family."
It certainly sounds like he could be picking up that first offer at any waking moment. For now, he only has offers from a handful of big time JUCO's, like East Mississippi and Hinds Community College.
"I'm a great rebounder and can give my teammates the ball anywhere on the floor with a great pass," Smith said regarding why he believe's his game can translate to the D1 level. "The division one coaches that are recruiting me now know that I can shoot the ball well and that I play aggressive when it comes to getting to the rim and finishing above the basket."
With Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Morehead State, and Southeastern Louisiana making the biggest impressions on Smith so far, he's planning on taking some visits soon, starting with Southeastern Louisiana.
Continue to follow along with Future150 as we continue to track Smith's progress and recruitment process throughout his senior season.
